Although it seems to be coming along quite slowly, summer is nearly upon us and with that comes some last minute preparation to properly give our favourite time of year a proper welcome. Here are our 4 tips for things to do to get you ready for the sunny season:
Spring Cleaning
Clean your way into summer and enjoy a fresh, sparkling home when the rays do start to peak from behind the clouds. Take advantage of the less-than-ideal weather and do a deep-clean of your house. Windows, floors, counter; the works. Take that tall fluffy duster from the back of your cleaning cupboard and get reaching for those cobwebbed ceilings and corners.
Landscaping
Dig out those weeds and let your garden welcome the summer with open arms. Now is the perfect time to get pulling and tidy your flowerbeds, topping them up with mulch or new fertiliser. You can replace or reseed your lawn ready for the family badminton championships and trim any precarious branches to save any possibility of costly damage occurring.
Roof Repair
It’s not too hot, it’s not too cold. It’s just the right time to do some roof work and repair any storm damage or general wear and tear that’s happened over the winter period. If you leave your roof to its own devices, not only can unwanted cold and hot air make its way into your home, unresolved water leaks can lead to mould growing and make its way to your lungs and create unwanted health problems.
Air Conditioners
If you do own an air conditioner you probably didn’t give it much thought over the last 6 months but as the weather turns warmer now is the perfect time to get your air con in perfect working order. It’s not too hot so if your unit does need some work you won’t be suffering as the necessary parts are ordered. Beat the summer rush and check it early!
