How to Transform Your Home for Less This Christmas

Christmas is the time of year when you can design your home with seasonal abandon, but how do you achieve that festive look for less? At Notaro Windows in Somerset we are big fans of home improvement, so here is a list of Christmas decorating tips that don’t cost much at all!

Pine Cone Centrepieces – Just take a stroll in a nearby wood and pick up the cones which take your fancy. When you get home you can paint the edges and tips with white paint or correctional fluid (good old Tipp-Ex) to resemble snow-kissed cones.

Twig candle holders – On your woodland stroll why not pick up some twigs? You can place them around a candle and hold them in place with a rubber band. Cover with a red ribbon and voila! You have a festive candle holder.

Twig pots – Place a selection of the tall twigs that you found on your travels in a pot to create a post-modern plant decoration. To lighten things up why not thread fairy lights between the branches?

Woodland Garland – Weave your next Christmas wreath with a selection of naturally found accessories. Pop it on the front door and create some first impression splendour!

Tin Can Lanterns – For that warm and rustic feel get a hammer and nail and start designing! You can make it festive with snowflakes and Christmas trees or make them last beyond Christmas with stars and other designs.

Light Bulb Ornaments – If you like to extend the life of your items look no further than repurposing your burnt out light bulbs for your Christmas tree. This is for the more artistic person who enjoys a bit of papier maché and exploring their artistic sensibilities.
